About Bob and Mary

2017 will mark 30 years of marriage for Bob and Mary.  They originally met playing volleyball with friends in Little Falls.  They initially lived in Buckman when they were first married but moved to their current home in Little Falls at Christmas time 1987.  As a number of Bob's family lived with them in the early years of their marriage, it wasn't until Christy went off to college that it was just the two of them.  Fortunately they found with the extra time alone together that they did in fact enjoy being with one another  As a result, thirty years of marriage is a time for celebration, there is still some magic left!  😍

We have one daughter, Christina Alice (Christy).  Christy will be marrying Caleb Jester on September 16, 2017.  Lots to celebrate in 2017!

Michael Robert Sitzman was born to us in March, 1993, but only lived a day and a half as his lungs were not fully developed.  We also went through a miscarriage in between Christy and Michael.

As of 2017, Mary has worked as a secretary at the Little Falls High School for 40 years!  Besides working in the office she also sells tickets at school events.  Mary loves to sing as evident by her being a member of both the St. Mary's Seasonal Choir and the St. Francis Chorale, plus cantoring at Mass.  Other church activities include children's liturgy of the Word and Christian Woman membership.  Her time at home includes her stamping hobby; just about all cards sent out are handmade by Mary.

Bob is now disabled due to his prostate cancer.  He worked in accounting and information systems for 29+ years at Appert's Foodservice.  Implementing accounting and computer systems where there had been none, and being part of a management team that took the company from $8 million in annual sales to $175 million in annual sales was a rewarding experience.  Bob serves as a co-leader for the local prostate cancer support group, helps with the Project Haiti website, and volunteers at St. Gabriel's Hospital in a number of areas.  He is also a eucharistic minister at St. Mary's.

Shared activities include time spent with friends and family, bike riding with our Little Falls and Rochester friends, and occasionally doing some traveling.

Yosemite National Park
Great Smokey Mountain National Park

Disneyworld - We probably have visited enough to qualify as tour guides.

We hope this blog will not only serve as a way to provide updates on Bob's cancer journey, but more importantly provide a way to share the precious moments that take our breath away.
